Wow, it's a been a while. I get so wrapped up in day to day that I totally forget I have a blog that needs attention. Oops.
So. Updates. Sister in law Mitch is doing ok, after a brief scare with the pregnancy. She was on bedrest for a while with placenta previa, meaning the placenta was way too low and blocking the cervix. She was off work for a few months, but is back to work now. They also found out that the baby is a girl!!! They have a name picked, and my nickname for her shall be Bree. Can't wait for her to get here!!
Bubba finished school with flying colors, and starts first grade in like a month. We're thinking about signing him up for flag football, cause it's relatively inexpensive, and not contact. He needs SOMETHING organized to do and I think it may give him better discipline. We shall see. He's been sporting a mohawk since just after school got out. He's not happy when I tell him he has to have it off for school.
We enjoyed back to back vacations. Small ones. First to family friends just outside of Charlotte, NC, but still in South Carolina. Lots of pictures on Facebook from that one. Lots of good food, drinks and fun in the sun and pool. Got to see my best friend, K, of the infertility struggle and then twins from Ohio, along with her sister and mom. It's all pretty much her extended family but we all grew up together on the same block or so back in Pennsylvania. BobbyK, the host, was always like an extra son for my parents. Miss everyone already. We also got bad news a few days after that trip regarding K's mom. She hasn't been feeling well, bad cough, short of breath. It's been determined that it's inoperable cancer, in lungs and chest. While the doctors intend to treat it, they don't believe they can fix it completely, just simply buy her some time. We are all devastated. So any extra prayers her way would be greatly appreciated. We're even more grateful now that we had that week with everyone.
My brother and A made that trip as well, and it was the first we've seen them in a while. A is still having his ups and down health wise. Another situation that the doctors can't fix, just buy time. It's taking a toll on my brother, especially since he doesn't have custody and his evil ex is just that, evil.
Second trip was over fourth of July weekend, we drove up to PA for camping for W's mom's birthday. I got to fly home on the 5th, while the boys stayed up for two weeks...they just got home last night. The quiet just about drove me insane.
And the biggest news of all is that we did get settled, partly, with Workers Comp. While it hasn't drastically improved finances, I don't have to worry about having money for the mortgage. Also, believe it or not, we got a hearing date for disability, which is later this week. I'm a wreck about this one, because the outcome of this pretty much determines our future....if he gets it, we have money coming in from W which will greatly improve the finances. If denied, I think we can appeal, but not sure yet. W is meeting with the lawyer today sometime.
I haven't been doing much at the station. I have a standing gig on Thursday nights at an awesome bar where BOB FM does bingo, and instead of being stuck at the station to broadcast the breaks, I actually get to be at the remote and help out and goof off. We have a great time, and most of the time I don't even drink.
Ok, I must get back to work. We survived the office move, but it was insane. I do like my new space, just don't like that I gave up an office with a door. More space, LOTS more room, but I'm right next to the front door and I have to help on the phones more than I used to before. But I'm still getting a paycheck so I really shouldn't complain. I hit the 10 year mark at this place this week. And it will be the first year in ten that I won't be asking for a raise.
Catch y'all later and hope all is well. Missy, I'm so glad you are on Facebook now!!! Keep in touch with it, k!?

new stuff/updates/etc
Hello hello. Been a busy little bee, and away from Blogger for quite a while, again.
We had another round of sickness run through the house, complete with pneumonia for Bubba, which entailed breathing treatments and antibiotics, but no hospital. We had taken him to the ER the week before for a really high fever and they told us it was a norovirus thing. That bill was ridiculous but I used savings to pay it off so it's taken care of. I had a wicked cough and respiratory infection type thing, was too stubborn to go to the doc and the cough stuck around for about three full weeks. I got really tired of coughing up green chunks. I did have my doc call me in a cough med with codeine so I would at least get some rest cause I wasn't sleeping worth a damn after two weeks of the cough. It didn't make me loopy or anything, but it kept the cough minimal overnight and I started to sleep better.
So the biggest update has to do with W and workers comp. Next Tuesday we will finally be settling with them relating to the wages aspect. Medicals get left open because of the drugs he has to take and other issues. Won't be open forever, there's just other technical stuff that has to happen before it closes. So we will be paying off a bunch of bills, sticking a large portion away for mortgage payments for the foreseeable future, and spending a bit here and there on stuff. We've discussed it and are gonna be making a list, prioritizing said list, and then WAITING! then slowly work our way down the list getting those things. Some are like trips to the dentist for me and Bubba which will be high on the list. Others include a new battery for the laptop, clothes shopping for me and Bubba. And other such stuff. This won't drastically change our lifestyle because the majority of the money has to get put away so we can pay the mortgage every month. But it will free up some money each month from the three or four things we're paying off that comes out of my income. SO. We're still waiting for disability, which could be a year before we even get the hearing. THAT isn't going to help much, either, because disability income is fixed depending on what a person has worked, etc. and it is OFFSET by a portion of his worker's comp settlement. So, it won't be much to live on, either. Again, it's very easy to say that this back injury has ruined our lives.
Bubba is still doing well in school. We ripped his room apart to get it good and clean because he seemed to be aggravated by something every night when sleeping and he'd just start coughing really bad. Last night was actually his first night back in there and he slept great. Now the fun part is keeping it clean.
It's high pollen season here in the South. Pine pollen is everywhere, leaving it's yellow ugliness where ever you look. On cars, houses, grass, even a layer on the ocean. We need heavy heavy rains to get it washed down, but none forecast till the end of the week. It lasts another month or so, too. Needless to say my allergies are driving me batshit, but it's better than the three weeks of coughing I had before.
Some of my favorite news to relate is that my sister in law, Mitch, is pregnant!!!! We are so excited. She and B told us over Christmas that they've been trying for a little while. Not sure when her due date is, but we are all so very excited for them. This will bring Bubba's cousin count to four, even tho one is in Japan and we never see her.
We spent a very interesting Easter weekend. Very very nontraditional, even by our standards. Food was grilled chicken, turkey filet mignon and potato salad. Then we went to the circus. We had a fantastic time. When we got home, more non traditional food, fried bologna sammiches.
The biggest stress going on right now is work related. There's been even MORE layoffs, too many rumors to count and it's finally official that we are moving. So not looking forward to the logistics of moving my files and cabinets and everything. It's a nicer building, but I won't have an actual office anymore and very little privacy which sucks. I believe the move date is the end of this month. I don't know if I'll have to give up a weekend to come in and do stuff, cause I am adamant about being involved with my files and cabinets so they don't get all messed up.
Well, I think that's it. Hope all is well with all of you and I'll see ya around.

check in
Hey y'all...just to check in, I'm alive, just super busy and addicted to Super Mario Brothers for the Wii and my Facebook stuff.
Still plugging along day to day. Got no internet at work for the time being, so I feel so completely disconnected. It's a long story and i do not have time for it now. There is so much going on work wise that I would need hours to type it all. And I just don't have those extra hours....
Hope you all are doing well...to my northern friends, stay warm and keep safe in all the snow.

Christmas vacation
The weather sucks, it's cold and snowing. W trying to do some hunting, with little luck. I have been sick since we started driving up on Wednesday and still feel awful. My poor kitty cat, who was in failing health when we left, figured he'd up on die on me when I'm gone and I couldn't say goodbye and tell him how much we love him. I am so incredibly sad, I wished he had held on till we got home. Christmas itself was nice, with lots of family time, some very thoughtful gifts and the food was exceptional.
More snow expected tonite, on top of the two to three we already have...I plan on getting up to help my father in law with the clearing, since he has no business being out there alone if at all. W got stuck at little brothers because the driveway here is a mess and the car wouldn't make it...he's promised to come get me so I can meet up with a few folks from home for lunch. If I didn't have someone to drive, I would not be able to go because I can't drive in the crap because I never have. Won't risk my car. other plans for tomorrow include sled riding, chuck e cheese and a movie with my favorite sister in law. Will finally get to go see New Moon. yaayay! She's not read the books, but got the first movie for Christmas and will see the second one, too. Then I gotta get her reading them so we can try to see the others together..i also want to see Sherlock Holmes.
at some point i'll get pictures up here, more selective from the group i put on facebook...too out of it right now took a sleeping pill so the cough won't keep me up. would much rather the cough just go away.
Hope you all are doing well. Talk soon. If you're on vacation, share your stories, and I'll have more later as the fiasco of all we're trying to do tomorrow unfolds.
Here's my darling Jack, Jack-a-bear, fatboy Jack, and finally, "Hairstylist Jacque" (because he loved to bury his head in our hair and rub and lick our foreheads and all that. was very soothing) Farewell my friend, meet you under the Rainbow Bridge someday. Say hello to Tigger and Amos and Ghost and all the rest.

Some other pictures
This is from Bubba's school festival last weekend. This is Crackers the camel....they fed him animal crackers....even the camels.
Bubba and my dad on the camel.
This little bundle of adorableness is Bubba's best friend at school. She ran over to him and kept hugging him. We've heard oodles about her, and this is the first chance we had to meet her...as they were parting ways, she hugged him again and gave him a big giant kiss. I about dropped dead.

November 19, 2009
hey everyone.
So I've been MIA a long time again....gonna try to change that. But for now, let's play catch up.
So probably the biggest thing in the past few months was birthdays. Me, W and Bubba. Bubba is now six. We never had a formal party, we had cupcakes on the day, we gave him the giant Nerf gun he'd been asking for, knowing that weekend, the inlaws were coming and we'd have the party then. So the inlaws come, and Bubba gets sick. AGAIN. See we'd all been through some kind of illness, starting with me and puking, and fatigue, and chest infection. I spent a day at the office puking, afraid to go home and miss work, for reasons I'll get into later. it was a wonderful few weeks with alternating people being sick, and we thought we were done, until the Friday the inlaws arrived. Maybe it was just too much excitement, but there was more puking, and the inlaws left early. fun fun. he was bouncing off the walls the next day, tho. He was very excited to receive all six Star Wars movies, and the day they all left, we watched three of them. Soon we will watch the rest. Other notable birthday gifts for Bubba includes a plethora of Bakugan. I resisted this craze with him as long as possible. Now we're flooded with the stuff and I HATE IT! But what can you do.
School is going well with him. He's had a field trip, another coming soon, fundraisers, etc. Had a parent teacher meeting, which W handled, so I didn't have to miss work. Got a good report and all is well.
So work has been crazy, both at the station and the office. Big layoffs swept through both places, we had a fire (minor) at the office in the middle of the night a while back(suspiciously right AFTER a group of layoffs.) I'm afraid to miss work for any reason, and am terrified of getting sick again. Bosses assure me there is no way I'm in any danger, BUT that doesn't take the fear of walking into work and not having a job anymore go away. Also, the rat bastids that rule the office with their petty issues and such finally succeeded and blocked facebook. And tho it's upsetting, we can't fuss about it, or risk the ire of those that rule, blah blah blah. Couple all that with not knowing how many more layoffs on the horizon, cause we know there are more. Two girls that I thought were safe obviously weren't. We no longer get day after Thanksgiving paid off, we have to either take it without pay, work or use vacation. Which leaves me just enough for Christmas I think. Radio hours will be drastically cut, now that football is over and we haven't been running any races...so i have a set two hours a week, plus whatever else might pop up. With the personnel changes at the station lately, I don't dare complain. They are fighting budget issues, too, but I should be low enough on the pay scale to be ok.
On a GOOD news front, I got to go out with my dear friend Arlene, and my daddy to see James Otto at the Beachwagon. We had a fantastical time, and the booze was flowing, but I never got trashed...it was an absolutley fabulous show. I'd add pictures, but since I can't get into facebook and the pictures are on the laptop, and I'm at work, I just can't. So I'll try to update with them later. We're going to see Jason Aldean this weekend, riding the "party bus" that the station put together, so we don't have to drive. It's in Florence which is about an hour and a half away. At first we didn't think we'd get the tickets from the station because of how few they were given, but they got a second batch in and I finagled a pair. I am not asking about meet and greet because we met him last time, but if the opportunity appears, we'll take it. W is just as excited as I am for this show, ever since the last concert ended I've wanted to see him again. This is the first chance we've had since.
W is planning on going hunting after Thanksgiving. Got the license, and other stuff in line for that. One of the neighbor guys who has been working out of town will be able to ride up with him, so that makes me feel SOO much better..he can help drive, help W stay awake when HE's driving and all that. Don't know about the way back, but there's two weeks to deal with that. Bubba will be cared for after school by Arlene, until I get home from work.
Christmas shopping is basically done. I need to get the bosses done and some odds and ends like stocking stuffers and what not. W and the siblings all pitched in to get their mom and dad a Wii, and then the brothers and mom and dad all pitched in to get the sister a computer. My brother and I went together to get our mom and dad bicycles, which incidentally, they picked out and we dropped off yesterday. We wanted them to have them early, since we'll be going to PA this year. Not looking forward to the drive, but the actual time up there will be nice. I'm going to try very hard to hook up with folks from school, since W will try to do some hunting again, and I'll have a full week to do whatever. Unless of course, I run out of vacation time beforehand and we have to come home earlier. We shall see.
My mom and dad are now BOTH unemployed...mama for almost a year and a half..papa off and on since july or so. he's had some temp work, but that's dried up now, too. they are struggling, which sucks, because I can't help them enough.
Let's see, what else. Anything that y'all wanna know about? I will try to be around more. Hope all is well with all of you...Missy if you are around and just not posting, drop me a line. I'm a little worried about ya, haven't heard from you in forever.

hey there
Hey guys and gals. Sorry I've been non existent in the blog world. Just surviving day to day.
Notable happenings in the past while:
we went to a Pelicans game, the minor league ball club here at the beach. Bubba loved it and is anxious to go again, however the season is over.
I've gone to two concerts, Trent Tomlinson, with inlaws and girls from the office. Had a blast. Rode the mechanical bull, which was a lot of fun. Kenny Chesney was the other show, down in Charleston. W and I went to that and he put on a fantastic show. Future planned concerts are James Otto, which I am very excited about, and also Jason Aldean, again incredibly excited about. Both shows are in November, so still have to wait a while. There's a possibility we'll go see Chris Young, too, but not sure about that yet.
Bubba started school!!! He absolutely loves it, and is doing well. I think he's adjusted great, with the exception of getting up at six am. Mama hasn't adjusted to that too well, either.
W is about the same, if not worse. The swelling continues to come and go, and sometimes it takes longer and longer to go away even with the heavy duty meds he takes to fix it. Doesn't look good. Still no word from disability, but once it comes down, it probably won't be good. If we have to request a hearing, I believe it takes 18 months to be heard. Crazy, huh. Then if we actually get it from the hearing, there's other problems, like the fact that his monthly amount still won't really be enough to live on.
Mama is still unable to find work. She's incredibly frustrated and I don't blame her.
The inlaws came for a visit the week Bubba started school, and it was fun. They had a beach house again, and we spent a lot of time there. I saw dolphins the one morning I went for a walk on the beach alone. Wish I'd had someone to share the experience with, but it still was a big boost for my mood.
let's see...Bubba has had his first sinus infection. His allergies have really kicked in, and since he doesn't like to blow his nose, it all stayed up in there and led to the infection. he still has a few more days of antibiotics, but he's feeling better. Cough gets better every day, and I'm hoping it quits soon. he missed two days of school from it too, which he was very upset about.
Other than that, it's the same around here. Hope all is well with everyone. As usual, I'm always on Facebook if anyone has the desire to check in.

we went to a Pelicans game, the minor league ball club here at the beach.
As usual, I'm always on Facebook if anyone has the desire to check in.

long, boring, rant-filled update
I should apologize for non-posting, but what's the difference? I should say I'll try to write more, but why? I think all of you that read my blog have the ability to follow me on Facebook, and I enjoy short little blurbs as status updates there and they obviously don't take as long to type. I WILL however, put as much into the post as I can, as a full and complete update on the many goings on in my world.
OFFICE: it sucks, as usual, but I'm still grateful to have a job at all, even one that I dislike and that drives my stress level to outrageous degrees. Boss1 fell and broke his wrist, and has been in a cast for two weeks, with about four more to go. He's not signed a thing since, so all the motions we've done lately have MY version of his signature along with my initials. I don't like signing the motions, but I don't have any choice. It does speed up the processing of new files, because I don't have to pile things up for him to sign. I just do them, print them, sign them, copy them and fax/mail them and it's done. Boss2 is also busy with various stuff, and sometimes it is hard to juggle it all, but that's what I'm paid to do, so I do it.
STATION: That's going well. After a drought of hours the past few weeks, I'm fully booked this weekend, and the following two. I haven't been on air for a while, but I will be this weekend. It is good and bad to be this busy with the station, good for the pocket book, bad for family time. But I gotta do something, we're barely squeaking by again.
HUSBAND: I don't even know where to begin with this. His back is no better, which is as expected. He has developed some other complications, basically related to the nerve damage. Edema. Swelling, retaining of water to the non medically inclined. Mainly in his feet and legs. When it's acting up bad, he has no ankles. It causes his feet to hurt really bad (on top of the back pain, yay) and they are both very discolored and he's got reduced feeling to them as well. Workers Comp is still fighting us about it being related to his back, so of course, they aren't paying for the scripts (now three, up from one) he's taking to combat the problem. Some days he can't walk. He still has really bad insomnia, even after taking sleeping pills, on top of all the other meds. He's a walking pharmacy worse than he was a year ago. He's also been falling. Not a lot, but everytime it scares me to death. It will only take one time when I'm not there, for him to bonk his head, or break his neck, or something. That's a stress inducer, too.
BUBBA: Ornery as hell, but what should I expect, he's almost six. Poor kid has had a rough ride lately, with mama being stress out and impatient, and daddy being a drugged up basic invalid. I try to make things as normal as I can for him but he's not dummy. He knows money is an issue, which is something I never wanted to be obvious to him. He starts kindergarten in 24 days. I am so excited, but nervous. I want him to do well, and fit in and make friends. But he's a bossy git, and doesn't listen (at least to me) and I don't want him getting in trouble at school, etc. He's so damn smart, and can easily make me laugh, and I love that about him. He still loves music, just like his mama. When I got a new MP3 player, he sort of inherited my old one and he walks around the house with his headphones on singing along and pretending to play guitar. He's also addicted to Star Wars, the Clone Wars stuff on whatever channel it's on. The Wii game helped that addiction along a bit. He's got lightsabres on the brain, walks around pretending there are clankers everywhere and such. He spent two weeks up in PA with Grammy and all. We went up for the 4th of July, and left him. He had a blast. Got spoiled rotten of course.
INLAWS: Same drama going on there. The wedding I already spent 170 bucks on for a dress and shoes that was set for October is officially 'postponed' at this point. Whatever. He's better off not getting hitched until they work out their issues, I'm just miffed over the money. It may all work out, and the dress is something I could wear if I ever had a black tie even to go to. haahahahahh. someday maybe, huh. The whole crew is coming down the same week Bubba starts school, for a week, along with little niece, L. They will be in a beach house, just like for Hoser's wedding, just not as close to the beach, but will still be awesome.
NEPHEW: Has shown improvement, last I heard with the plasma treatments he's been having. He's been weaning off the gobs of eye drops he's been using, not sure how often he gets them now. They removed the pic line because of the risk of infection. He won't be starting school this fall, which sucks because he could have been in the same class as Bubba. There's enough drama in that situation for two days of writing so I won't go into all of it.
CAMPING: We've done a few trips close to home with the camper, which were very fun. Mother's day and Father's day weekends, actually. The campground is right on a lake, so I could fish and fish and fish. However, we didn't catch and catch and catch. It was soo hot the second time we went, we were pretty much holed up in the camper except for mornings and evenings...looking forward to cooler weather to do it some more.
FISHING: Finally squeezed in a fishing trip to our other fishing hole as well. I caught a bunch of blue gill and a very very mean turtle. Bubba doesn't fish as much as he plays bait boy and just mainly runs around burning off energy. He'll do more actual fishing as he gets older I hope.
MISCELLANY - So the other day, I discovered a crack in the floor of the shower in our bathroom. The bathroom that gave me headaches last year when we had to remodel it. Luckily it's under warranty, however only to the point that they'll replace the base of the shower, no labor coverage. In the meantime I must shower in the spare bathroom again, which blows. I'm really trying not to bitch about it, cause there's nothing I can do. I will bitch about however much it's gonna cost us in labor, cause that totally sucks.
WEATHER: Stormy, is the best way to describe it. Lots of storms, just about every afternoon/evening....one is brewing while I type this. Hurricane season is well upon us, with no problems so far. I don't want any hurricanes this year. I don't need the stress of evacuating on top of everything else. Tho, if the house gets demolished, I won't have to worry about paying for a mortgage, would I? KIDDING.
RANT: I'm just overly frustrated with the status of my life right now. I never dreamed, even when W first got hurt that things would turn out this bad. Worker's comp in OCTOBER deemed him at MMI (maximum medical improvement) and closed the file and prepped to settle...it's now AUGUST and we haven't settled, and I don't even want to. He's getting worse by the day, and noone seems to care. I refuse to believe there is nothing for them to attempt to get him somewhat better. Are they just hoping he'll croak or something in the meantime so they don't have to pay anymore? We keep going back and forth with what to do with whatever settlement money we DO get and we aren't agreeing. He says one thing, me another, and then he is all like, it's MY money, I'll do what I want and yadda yadda yadda. But if he does something like that, I have no way to pay for the car or the house and so on.
I don't spend enough time with Bubba and I feel incredibly guilty about it, with every extra shift at the station, more guilt. I KNOW that money isn't all things, but dammit, I need to be able to pay the bills, and every so often have some fun money, and if I don't work, that doesn't happen. Between work, and trying to keep the house clean, the grass cut, the groceries bought, etc. there just isn't enough time in the day.
I'm worried about my old cat Jack. We're pretty sure it's him that is drinking excessively and urinating excessively. NOT a good sign in a 12 year old cat. I'm having to clean the cat box daily, when I used to be able to skip at least one day in between. If I don't, there's mess on the floor, which takes MORE time to clean up, and see above about not enough time as it is. I don't know how I'd handle him up and dying, but I better start preparing myself. Bubba won't handle that too well, either. Ugh.
Okay, my brain is fried. If I missed anything, sorry..I am not editing, either, so deal with the typos/spelling/whatever. Anything YOU want updated on, ask and I'll respond as soon as I can.
Just about done at the station for tonite. I'll be back for a race tomorrow and Sunday, not sure how much computing I'll do in the meantime.
Love you all, and thanks for listening. And Sp, thanks for the Facebook chat tonite. It was nice and hopefully we won't take so long to do it again.

no where else to go for this
I don't even know where to start. I know it's been a while since I posted, and I just needed to write and Facebook wasn't the place.
My nephew, A, of the eye issues, has more issues that have been recently diagnosed. Issues that regardless of what treatment they try, (since nothing works for everyone and some things don't work but for only a few,) will kill him. they've been trying this and that, varying degrees of success and now are trying something else. No one with his condition/issues has lived past adolescence. I about wrecked my car last night when my mother told me. I'm having a hard time grasping the importance of work right now when in all likelihood my brother will have to bury his son, and probably soon. A has surgery tomorrow, and the procedure following will have consequences depending on how his body tolerates it. He may go downhill quickly, he may not. we won't know.
Oh, and it isn't cancer. it's a rare thing, more prevalent in females. supposedly has hereditary links, but noone in either family has ever had similar issues. i'm just so torn up and cannot even imagine how my brother is doing, because he has to deal with crazy ex on top of all the rest, cause of course she blames him. Stupid bitch.
I'm just not with it very much right now, and don't know what to do. We've prayed and prayed and prayed. We've cried and cried. I feel utterly helpless and hopeless.

only because i haven't been around, and because Missy tagged me.
I couldn't figure out how to get the picture, but it's very pretty. So pretty Missy tagged me for a Kreativ Blogger award (hee, that's funny since I rarely blog anymore.) but anyway.
Here's the deal... when you receive this award you have to list 7 things you love and pass it on to seven bloggers you deem worthy. Don't forget to tag them in your blog so others can see how great they are!!!
1. My family - things are still a little rough in our neck of the woods, but I would never get through them without the silliness of my child and his undyling love and affection, even though he drives me absolutely batshit crazy sometimes....same with the hubby.
2. Music - like Missy, it's eclectic, and my son's new favorite is also Poison, but we predominantly listen to Country.
3. FOOD - I love to eat, which makes it hard to stick to my diet and keep skinny. I haven't exercised in two weeks, my Wii Fit probably forgot who I am. I plan on getting back to it next week.
4. Reading - I read all four Twilight books in about two weeks time. The first one took all of a day, but I was off work and had nothing else to do as we were at doctor appointments with W. Normally time for reading is rare, but I've been trying to make sure I have a little time, as long as I have something to read.
5. Fishing - We've been doing a lot of fishing lately, thanks to a friend we met on Freecycle. Private property, private pond, bass, bluegill, who knows what else. It's been awesome.
6. My radio job - I've rarely been on the air lately, but I'm still getting hours, and I gotta say, I still love doing it. I was finally on air last weekend. Even without some of the great perks I get from time to time, I would love this job.
7. My internet friends - made some great new ones, found some old ones thanks to Facebook. I'm addicted to many things Facebook, embarrassingly so. W hates how much time I spend playing Pirates and Mafia Wars, and the pet society thing. But, it's fun to me, and for me, so I do it anyway.
Okay, not tagging anyone, cause I don't even think I have seven readers, but if you read and decide to do it, link it up, for our reading pleasure.

fun for a change
Since I ended up being off from the station this weekend, we were planning a trip to a friend's house so Bubba could shoot his gun. Well, when she called to confirm, she mentioned fishing, and I went bonkers. They have a private pond to fish in, so we didn't need licenses. I rallied the troops and packed up and out we went, cause dammit, I needed to go fishing. We had a great time, Bubba got the best shot out of all of us with his gun, which totally made his day. And I caught the only fish, a nice sized blue gill. It is currently living in Miss Bonnie's little pond in the yard, since he was the only one we caught, he wasn't big enough for dinner.
Today I got up and cut the grass. It was jungle-ish in places. It rained and rained last week so the grass grew like crazy. Tomorrow night will have to be weed-whacking because I just ran out of energy. I've been loafing in front of the TV/computer since. Race has been on, but it's just about over, then dinner.
I've been horribly addicted to Twilight. Got the first two books in paperback, cause they were fairly cheap at Costco. Burned through the first book in one day, when I was off work and at doc appointments with W. Second didn't take much longer, but then I had a problem. I didn't wanna buy the hardbacks, and the next two aren't out in paperback yet. Luckily I had a friend lend me the next two. I finished the third Friday night and have just about finished the last. There are spots where I just could NOT put the books down, it's crazy. I am completely amazed, again, by authors that can create such vivid stories. I am not very articulate when it comes to my writing, obviously, I tend to keep it very simple. But even when in college and I had to write essays and such, they were never very good. Informative, yes, but creative, flowy and outstanding, no. Anyway, I love the whole series, can't wait for the movie (which I'm not supposed to know I'm getting for Easter! WOO)
K, time to make dinner with W, race is just about over. Have a great week y'all, I'll try to write more often, but you know how it is.

two things
I'm leaving work tonite and heading to Walmart to buy a new CD. John Rich's solo album, very long anticipated. Anyway, weeks ago while doing radio promotion he promised ON AIR to personally sign the first 100,000 copies, and include a free year in his fan club. I'm hoping against hope to get one of those autographed copies. Wish me luck.
Also, my husband just ripped T-Mobile a new butthole because we both upgraded our phones in the past few months, because there was a mail in rebate that made them free, however he got notification that we all of a sudden don't qualify for the rebate. End result? A $100 credit on our cell phone bill, the equivalent of what the rebates would have been. Customer service at it's finest folks. This is the third incarnation of our cell phone company. We moved here with AT&T which was bought by SunCom, which was recently bought by T-Mobile. We've been customers since 1999 and they have ALWAYS gone above and beyond necessary means to solve our problems. So kudos to T-Mobile, and hooray for no cell phone bill for the next few months.

blah
Man every day is still about the same around here:
Get up and go to work, wishing I didn't have to, but thankful I have a job, anyway.
Wait impatiently for 5:00 so I can rush home.
Fix dinner, do chores, play with Bubba, get Bubba into bed, watch TV with the hubby and crash.
Lather, rinse repeat. For fun, on weekends, we do the same, sometimes throwing in me going to work at the station!! Dont y'all wish you were me? hahahahaha

sheesh, I haven't updated in a while
Haven't been extra busy really, just nothing blogworthy.
Inlaw visit was good, albeit short. Bubba got tons of stuff, I got a bunch of books, CD's and movies I was wanting.
And I have finally been asked by the bride to be a bridesmaid...woo.
Dusty dog was sick when inlaws were here. Ear infection, led to a hematoma. We've been messing with it all last week, and then kinda figured it was fine. Cept it isn't, cause the hematoma is back again. They drained it at the emergency vet, and I've kept up with it, but this morning I wasn't able to get it to drain, the incision was too healed. So she may have to go to the vet again, unless W can get it opened and drained. She took a weeks worth of antibiotics, so I don't know why its still messed up. Already spent 250 bucks not looking forward to another vet bill.
Work is crazy at the office. In fact, I have to go, because my phone won't quit ringing and I have tons to do. But just wanted to let y'all know I'm alive and things otherwise are about the same.

2nd time the charm?
I wrote a very lengthy post earlier and it got eaten by blogger....I will attempt again, but it's not going to be as long.
Not much has been going on around here, every day is the same, which leads to weeks/months passing at an alarming rate and nothing to show for it.
Things going on in the few weeks since I've posted:
I'm horrible addicted to Facebook. If you are my friend there, please join Pet Society and let my Furrball come visit your pet. I only have a few and would love to have more, besides I'm addicted to caring for everyone else's Pet for the points. Please join?
Also related to Facebook, I've found a long list of folks I went to school with back in the day, and we're planning a reunion of sorts this summer. I'm excited, and hope like mad I can make it up for it.
W's brother M and fiance (please tell me I mentioned they got engaged at Thanksgiving) announced a wedding date. October 3. So W and Bubba are officially in the wedding (I hope they are doing tuxes, I want desperately to see my little man in a tux) and I am awaiting my request from the bride. Gonna be an expensive trip, for sure.
My brother's little boy, A, is not improving, in fact he's getting worse, and my brother is just devastated. Long story short, he's got some rare condition, literally FIFTY documented cases, and it may be affecting his other eye, and ultimately destroy it, too. So he's gone from having lost one eye, to possibly the other one, as well. 30 surgeries later, he's worse off then when he started. Say some prayers for him, if you don't mind.
Tax rebate come and gone. Paid off one whole credit card, then we are having the remote starter installation finished up in my car, since W never did it. Anything left after that goes into savings so I can afford two trips to PA this year.
In laws are invading next weekend to finally do Christmas. End of February ain't so bad for that, huh?
Contrary to what I was told last year, NASCAR is back on the air at the station, so I'm pulling more hours at the station. I'm excited about it.
Finally, we have big plans for tomorrow, going out to the country, where I did the last wedding in September. Hopefully gonna be riding the four wheeler, but Bubba lost his privileges for some really crappy behavior the past two days so we may not be riding at all...I'm excited either way, because it's a day out, and I need one.
Haven't slept worth a damn all week, and I'm exhausted. Hoping to head to bed early tonite and take a sleeping pill so I feel better.....we'll see.
K, I'm outta here...If this doesn't post this time, I'm not redoing it. See ya'll and hope you are all doing well.

checking in
Since I'm not much of a writer to begin with, I can't say I have writer's block. I constantly think, "Oh I should blog about this." or, "Oh that would be funny to share." and then never do so. Mainly because I'm never around a computer when such moments happen.
We had a great weekend, with the Steelers winning the Superbowl. Bubba stayed up for the whole game and was hooting and hollering and screaming along with us. Granted, he didn't quite get WHY he was doing so, but he did it anyway. And I shared on Facebook the video of him playing the air guitar during the halftime show. I guess I'll put it up here, too.
Nothing really going on. We got a Wii Fit, and I'm currently trying to stay committed to working out on it. It's been fun so far (well, it only came in last nite, so I've only used it once, but it WAS a lot of fun.)

new year off to great start
So let's see....New Years are supposed to be new starts and fresh beginnings, and have tidings of good things to come....hahhahhahahah. mine has sucked, only 16 days in. The various bad news I've received:
My good friend in Ohio, with the twins, her dad was laid off. Totally out of the blue. W's aunt is getting laid off. My mom still can't find work. My brother is basically out of work, waiting for the "new job" to get in touch with him.
Same brother who is more broke than me, had his ancient but reliable, erm, maybe not, truck blow up on him, costing him 1900 bucks in repairs. I've offered him a couple hundred bucks but he probably won't take it.
My co-worker's dad is getting sicker and sicker and she got into it with our shared boss during her last extended period out of town to help the family out. She came back Thursday and promptly put in her two week notice. I'm stressed out at work over it because I really don't wanna have to do the personal injury stuff again and I don't know if they are gonna hire someone or not. I am not in the "need to know" category regarding that apparantly.
Bubba is sick. He kept us all up last night vomiting, and we almost took him to the ER because his fever hit 104. Motrin wasn't touching it. He's puked off and on all day, but the fever hasn't risen over 102. I went into work for all of twenty minutes to put finishing touches on two things that couldn't wait until Monday. Fun fun. We're sincerely hoping it stays with him, but he and W shared food/drink yesterday before any sign of it started. I've been disinfecting/sanitizing often, I just don't know if it's doing any good.
It is unbelievebly cold. Our low is supposed to be TWELVE DEGREES!!! This isn't necessarily bad news, more of an aside. And I know Missy is much much colder, but holey hell it's cold here. We've had the fireplace going all day to keep the house warm without running the crappy furnace and skyrocketing the electric bill.
Last but not least, during dinner tonite, the phone rang, I answered, it was for W. He didn't wanna take it, but I made him because it was the fraud department of one of our credit cards. Seems someone got lucky somehow with combination of numbers or something, and tried to use our card to purchase four grand worth of airfare. Thank goodness the fraud team caught it, mainly because it would have put us over the limit, so they called to verify. So, card cancelled, which stinks, new one coming soon. But its a big hassle. Luckily again, they told us it wasn't some kind of identity theft issue, just someone trying to scam the card. Could have been worse, but it scared the bejesus out of us.
All of the above has lead to the quietness around here. I start thinking about things to post, then realize, meh, not that fascinating or I get too busy and don't get to it and then the great thoughts vanish. That happens a lot with this brain of mine.
K, must put more wood on fire. W and Bubba are in our bedroom, not sure either is actually sleeping. I'm on the laptop in the living room. Hope you all have a good weekend. And that your New Year isn't starting off as crummy as mine.

Holiday pictures
Hey everyone! We had a great couple days, mostly due to the fact I didn't work for FIVE DAYS! I'll have a four day weekend this week, depending on radio station schedule, which has been pretty sparse.
Anyway, I wanted to throw up some pics from Christmas, and refer you all to Myspace for the videos because I'm too busy at work to take the time for the vids.
Nephew A with his new slipper socks! (Obviously the eye patch is because his prosthetic isn't fully 'installed'. Soon, tho. I think he looks awesome as a pirate!)
My mama watching (she would so totally kill me for posting a pic of her in the net.)
My son the redneck, with his first .22 caliber rifle. He already has a BB gun rifle that he's really good at hitting targets with. Squirrels be on the run!
He asked Santa for this, and Santa at first thought it was a waste of money, but it's AWESOME! (oh, it's Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii.)
I know it's not real clear, but this is a close up of him with the helmet on, and I just love it.
Enjoy. Talk again soon. Happy New Year, in case I'm not back. I have NO plans except SLEEP, tho I'll probably stay up to watch the ball drop. Haven't gone out drinking in years.

Have a holly jolly...
Hey ya'll. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. I'm starting off with no work until MONDAY after I finish my two hour shift at the station tonight!! WOO!
Happy Birthday today to my daddy, my daddy in law, and Andrea! (I'm too lazy to remember how to link to her, she's over there --->)
Question: what is your favorite Christmas song, and you may list more than one.
Mine are Little Drummer Boy, Ukranian Bell Carol, and Oh Holy Night. Please lemme know what yours are. I may not get them until after, because I don't think I'll be bothering with the computer much for a while.
Merry Merry Christmas my dearies. Love you all.

Tales from Deer Camp
So I survived a week in PA with some of W's relatives, a week of snow and rain, and COLD temperatures. Of five layers of clothes while sitting or standing in the woods waiting for deer that never materialized (at least for me.)
Let's start with the early part of the vacation.
With all the snafus dealing with getting my Caliber fixed, it of course wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. Had to leave my mom in charge of getting it picked up from the stupid dealer I will never do business with again. So instead of having my car back in my driveway while I was out of town, it was stuck at the dealer until this past Thursday. Anyway.
W refused to hook up the quad to the trailer and the trailer to the truck on Thanksgiving night. Of course. Said it would only take a few minutes Friday morning....famous last words...instead of leaving at six like he wanted, we didn't leave from dropping the rental car off until oh, 9:30.
So Roxie (short for Roxanne, the GPS unit) had us on the way, and I promptly took a nap. Everything was going fine. We got up to Thomasville, NC or somewhere or another and we needed gas in the truck, and also put some in the quad. Now, as I had my wallet in my hand, I specifically told myself, "Self, do NOT put the wallet down on the side of the truck you'll forget it and that would be a mess." So I did not. I DID however, set it ON THE QUAD, while putting gas into it. Five and a half hours later, we stop for food and pee break, and lo and behold, my wallet is NOT IN MY PURSE. Commence total freak out, because I knew the damn thing was gone, and we were facing the prospect of a five and half hour backtrack trip, on the total lark of a chance of finding the wallet at the gas station or close to thereabouts. I was screaming, because I wouldn't have been able to get on a plane for the trip home, wouldn't have been able to spend any money because we'd have had to cancel both debit cards, plus the Amex that was in the wallet. Luckily, as I was beginning to totally lose it, W FOUND the wallet on the foot area of the quad. It survived I don't know how many miles, even after we had to swerve hard to the left and back to the right when a huge tree branch was in the middle of the road. I was thanking God left and right, it wasn't luck, it was an outright miracle.
After recovering from that, Bubba threw up, luckily in the toilet at McDonald's. He's still not quite right, after a week. Very bad lingering cough, no other problems. W may be taking him to the doc today or tomorrow up there.
The rest of the trip was uneventful with the exception of it being a bit long. Bubba got dropped off at the mall Saturday morning with Grammy for a vist with Santa, the picture is adorable. W and I attempted to shoot my rifle in, to discover it didn't want to fire. Four hours later and a trip to the gunsmith, it was fixed, and I proceeded to hit a great shot into the target, along with a smack to the side of the nose with the scope. OUCH! No bruise, no black eye, lucky me.
Sunday was a loaf day. Slept in, didn't really do much. Early to bed, so we could get up early. Which we did. It was cold. I had tons of clothes on, walked up the hill with W and sat. Saw a buck about an hour in, which W shot at and missed. When I got too cold, I went in to eat and thaw out. Lather, rinse repeat for the week. I never saw a deer again while in the woods. One evening, the big buck came down off the hill into the back yard and I almost got a shot off before he disappeared into the thicket. Spent six plus hours in a tree stand in the snow and wind on the day W shot a doe from the dining room. Two neighbors brought us deer, so we spent Thursday night and all day Friday processing them (and I do mean all day, started cutting/cleaning, chopping meat around eight in the morning, and finished grinding and packaging at nine that evening. Thursday was the skinning and cutting meat off the bone.) 90 percent of the meat was ground up for the multiple things I use ground meat for. We have three nice big roasts, and about 10 pounds of sirloin steaks. Provided W doesn't get a buck while he's still up there, we have probably a hundred pounds or so of ground meat. I'm thankful, even though I didn't get to shoot anything.
I spent Friday night at Grammy's with a still sick and coughing Bubba, who kindly woke me up at almost two in the morning to puke. Didn't get much sleep after that. Got dropped off at the airport plenty early, breezed through security, tho the pricks took my unopened bottle of water. Spent my last two bucks cash on a 20 ounce bottle of soda. The plane out of Atlanta coming to Pittsburgh was late. Keep in mind I had a whopping 35 minutes between flights in Atlanta in the first place. So we didn't take off on time, but the pilot made up some time in the air. However, we landed at 12:45 and my flight out was 1:04. ACK! Luckily I flew in at gate C4 and was flying out of C10. That normally doesn't happen at Atlanta, normally you have to traipse all the way across the airport. Found a place to pee, horked down half a cigarette, raced back to my gate and sat to text W that I had made it. Now normally, I wouldn't have bothered with the smoke, but when I walked past C10 to the potty, there were plenty of people still sitting, so I figured they weren't boarding yet. How wrong was I. As soon as I hit send on W's text, I heard from the little podium dude, "Again, Final Boarding call, so and so and Beachgal!" Holey hell, I ran up there, totally freaked out. I literally JUST made the damn flight. I got my bag in the overhead, (after having to walk back three rows cause some dickhead rudely insisted I not put my bag on his suit which was in MY overhead, when he was sitting across the aisle. Dude hadn't even put his own bag in HIS overhead. I wanted to smack him. The flight was part empty so I moved anyway and had a window seat.) Anyway, I no sooner stowed my bag when the plane started moving.
I settled in with my Grisham book (the new one, it's good) and soon enough we were in Charleston. Found my parents and off we were for yummy food and the drive back to the beach. I did NOT hug my car when I got to their house, tho I was tempted because, dudes, they not only fixed it, they washed it and detailed the inside. Some brownie points there, but I'm still not using that dealer again. I collected the Wii that was kindly left with them to play while we were out of town, however, I forgot my turkey soup.
Got home to dogs who were happy to see me, but kept looking for W. Kitties showered me with kisses as well. Tons of mail sorted and tossed or whatever. I didn't stop for over an hour once I walked in the door. Laundry, cat box, unpacking, yadda yadda. Spent three hours reading emails and blogs. Then crashed. Yesterday was DVR catch up day and some more computer stuff. Finished up the laundry and watched the Steelers pull one out over the cowgirls and then finished my book.
Work not so bad so far, but I've only played catch up with one attorney. This afternoon will be worse I'm sure. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. W is planning on coming home this week, maybe....depends on a lot.
W may be taking him to the doc today or tomorrow up there.

helooooo
hope all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. I'm currently in Pennsylvania, and it's cold and it's raining and it's supposed to turn to snow any minute. yuck.
Gearing up to go hunting in the morning. PRE buttcrack of dawn. I've already bonked myself in the head with the scope of my rifle, but I hit the bullseye on the target so I guess it's worth it. Don't think I'll have a ton of computer time again, but I'll try to check email before the end of the week. I'll be home Saturday afternoon.

car update and miscellany
Well our deductible is 500 bucks. Good thing I have enough in the savings to cover that. I keep reminding myself it could have been worse. Initial estimate on my car is 1,654 in damages. Don't know about the other vehicle, it wasn't badly damaged at all. After talking to Boss1 about the ticket, we requested a continuance on the court date, instead of our usual procedure of requesting a jury trial. He'll go to the new date and negotiate a lesser fine for us. If he can knock about half of it off I'll be happy, well not as upset.
My rental car is pretty sweet. A 2009 Chevy Impala. It's like a gunmetal blue/grey. The seat is a bit uncomfortable and I already miss my Caliber. Hoping to have it back by the end of the week. I keep forgetting to take camera to work, but once I do I'll upload pics of the damage, because of course I took some. Boss2 wants to borrow my camera so I'm supposed to take it in tomorrow.
Hanging at the station for a BobFM remote. Do any of y'all have BobFM? I love it. An example of the play list, and this is just from what is coming up in the next half hour:
Stone Temple Pilots
Fleetwood Mac
Scorpions
Pink
Had some Aerosmith and Eagles before that. As far as I know, these BOB remotes will be the majority of my hours now that NASCAR is over. At least one more football game this Friday. If they lose it's over, and if they win, I won't be around for the following weeks game. I am getting a voicetrack shift for this Sunday, which I'm not sure when I'll tape. I'll either have to come in early to do it before the football game, or stay late and do it after. I could also just come in on Saturday and Sunday to do it, but that would kinda ruin the first full weekend off I've had in forever.
Hoping to finish off Christmas shopping before we go up to PA. If not, I'll have time during my week to myself to try to get some done. That's probably when I'll get some Bubba stuff done, plus search for some new clothes for me. I'm still in need of warm weather stuff, it's gotten so damn cold here.
Well, almost time to do the last break, then head home.
Oh yeah, Bubba and I have been playing Guitar Hero a bit this week. He lost Wii privileges for some unimportant issues, not sure it makes much sense to allow Playstation, but we're doing it. He's getting a little better, but still doesn't do great. He has a lot of fun though. I, however, amaze myself with how well I do, even though my fingers HURT when I'm done. I'm playing on easy, and my career is about half done. I battled Slash of Guns 'n' Roses last night and then played Welcome to the Jungle with him, it was kinda awesome. May try to advance to medium, if we keep up playing. We haven't played in forever, and once the Wii is back, we'll most likely stick with it. I finally bowled a perfect game on the Wii. Took me long enough, but I'm glad I finally did it.
Okay, I'm really done now. Talk to y'all later.
Missy, you ok? You've been a bit quiet.
p.s. haahhahah, my blogger ad right now if about traffic tickets!!! hahahahahaha.

My husband is totally in the doghouse
Why you ask? Cause I know y'all are dying to find out the latest reason why I'm ticked off at the man. Well, it's simple really. HE WRECKED MY CAR!!!!!!!
He was driving to my mom's to finish up the installation of my anniversary present, a remote starter contraption, and drifted into the other lane and caught the back bumper of another vehicle. That vehicle isn't too messed up. My front quarterpanel and headlight are all smashed up. Luckily, noone was hurt, Bubba was in the car with him at the time, I had just pulled into the station in the truck, which I NEVER get to drive. He got a warning, because we couldn't seem to find the registration for the Caliber, and a ticket for unlawful lane usage. I have no clue what our deductible is, but needless to say it's going to drain the savings account to pay it. The ticket will cost us 150 bucks, but if we go to court they'll drop the fine a bit. I'll talk to Boss1 about it and see if it's worth his involvement, I'm not sure the Trooper would drop it to a 0-point violation, he even said as much, that they'd just drop the fine if he went to court. However, the court date is when we'll be in Pittsburgh.....I'm willing to just eat the fine most likely, don't wanna make too many waves, considering the Trooper could have done worse. The downside of working at the firm and doing traffic tickets is knowing all the what-if's.
I missed about an hour of work, cause I left once someone came to cover the race. But I'm back now, and W has the unenviable task of calling the insurance company, plus he'll have to go and get me a new registration card. Now that I think about it, I'd rather the Trooper would have written the registration violation, so we could have tried to make a deal to dismiss the other one and pay the fine on the other. But whatever, it could have been much worse.
Must go voicetrack and then watch the last race of the season. And the last race for the radio station. Blah.

The in law visit
It went well...we pulled off the surprise amazingly. W insists he had no clue, but I was starting to think maybe he did, but who knows. Bubba was so shocked. The party went off great, a bunch of the neighbor girls came over, my mom and Aidan showed and Bubba got spoiled rotten. Tons of new toys and clothes.
We are planning a trip to PA the week after Thanksgiving, for hunting. For the first time since I was a kid, I'll be hunting this year. Look out deer in Greene County, Beachgal is gunning for ya, hoping to fill my freezer. Also, since I can only stay a week, and W likes to spend two weeks, we shopped around and booked me a plane ticket back for 75 bucks. It's flying into Charleston, which isn't too far, and my mom will be able to pick me up. The best part is that I only have to endure the drive UP to PA instead of up and back. That is totally worth the 75 bucks, I tell ya. Bubba will spend the extra week with Grammy and the rest of W's family, and I will have a week home alone, which will be glorious!!!
Watched a fabulous episode of Crossroads on CMT, featuring Def Leppard and Taylor Swift. First, Joe Elliott is still hot, second he sounds fantastic singing country music. Since it was on the DVR, I plan on watching it again, it was that good. Missy, I highly recommend that you catch it if you haven't already.
Ok, well, I'm at the station, for the second to last race of the year, and I'm also flipping over and watching the Steelers game. As of now, it's halftime and they are winning.
Last but not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA. We've told you all day that it's your LAST day ever as a four year old and you are so excited for tomorrow. We love you very much and I look forward to what life with a five year old brings.

So glad all that's over
Wow, is pretty much all I have to say. I'm not sure I really thought Obama would win, but I certainly expected it to be a closer race. My husband is all doom and gloom, however I am cautiously optimistic that things may just change for the better. Noone knows for sure. And no, I won't tell you who I voted for. (bubba keeps asking me and it's annoying.)
